Grown Up Farm Camp!

We have welcomed a new member to our EHF staff! Danielle joined us this past November and is the new program coordinator for Grown Up Farm Camp, previously known as Adult Midweek Getaways.  We held our first “Grown Up Farm Camp” April 22-27 and boy was it a hit!

Danielle kicked off the week with an afternoon tea welcoming the group of 17 campers.  After settling into their cozy accommodations, everyone gathered for a delicious turkey dinner followed by Earth Day Jeopardy. Each category focused on different environmental leaders and initiatives.

The campers next enjoyed a goat cheese workshop lead by Triwell Farms. Each camper had the opportunity to sample different types of goat cheese, then they were able to make some of their own! There were a few craft classes including making a floral arrangement with pine cones.

When the campers were hungry, not only were they satiated with cocktail parties and hearty meals, they were also able to “feed their faces”. This was a fun and educational workshop in which campers created facials and hand scrubs out of common kitchen ingredients.

Evening activities included a wine glass painting class with Olivia followed by a blind wine tasting the next night. Campers sampled various wines and attempted to figure out which one was which.

Other highlights from the week included: a visit and tour of the Cathedral of the Pines, a food carving class with Jane, games with Nora, a corn hole tournament, and a multi-day scavenger hunt.

It is safe to say the first week of camp was fun for all! Join us in October for our next fun filled Grown Up Farm Camp experience!
