Maple Madness!

As the snow and ice begin to thaw, so does the sweet sap in the maple trees that surround us. Warm days allow the sap to liquefy, move and build pressure within the trees, causing it to flow from any fresh wound on the tree. Cold nights create the ideal conditions for the sap to freeze again, thus continuing the cycle. Maple producers are then able to collect the sap, boil it, and create the sweet treat known as maple syrup. The maple-sugaring season in New Hampshire is in full swing, and typically lasts from mid-February to mid-April. Here are our favorite locations to experience the season during your next visit to East Hill Farm!
