Barn News

It is hard to believe that it is mid-summer already.  We have been very busy and our guests have enjoyed great vacation weather.  The swimming pools and Silver lake have been very well used!

There has been plenty of action in and around the barnyard.  Our Heifer calf, Cinco has been joined by a new Kerry bull calf.

The first chicks that arrived Easter week are growing well.  They will be producing eggs for you this fall. We have some new Guinea Fowl called Keats (baby Guinea fowl) that will soon be on bug patrol around the Farm.  These birds make a lot of noise, but they are great help controlling the insect population.

As the cycle of life on the Farm continues we are sad to report that our long time trail horse, Jasper had to be euthanized recently.  He provided many of our guests with their first riding experience.  He was a favorite of Kyle, Perri and many guests.  The good news is that Pride is due to have a calf within a month.

As you probably know Lola our young sow has produced a fine litter of 11 piglets.  Her delivery was well attended by at least 20 guests.  Her personality is such that she was not bothered at all.  Good job Lola!

We are looking forward to seeing our many returning guests and meeting new visitors at the Farm.  Please give us a call if you have special needs or with any questions regarding your next visit.  Thanks to our guests who have visited this season, we appreciate your loyalty and look forward to your next visit.

     Have a great summer everyone!

I'll see you along the way!

Barnyard Goal

Our goal at East Hill Farm is to provide an enjoyable, educational farm vacation for our guests.  To achieve this goal we strive to provide realistic farm related activities.  The farm activities scheduled may be adjusted a bit to accommodate meal times and other activities.  The daily farm chores including milking the cows and goats, are necessary functions to be accomplished each day, as they are done every day on the farms of professional farm operators throughout the country.

We hope that your visit to East Hill Farm will be most enjoyable and provide you with increased awareness and understanding of the importance of agriculture to our society.  Come and enjoy a real farm experience in a comfortable resort atmosphere. Click here for a link to our Conservation Practices.
